Event Recap: Accelerating Artificial Intelligence in Uruguay's Public Sector

The public sector and artificial intelligence in Uruguay

Today we participated in the event co-organized by ANTEL, Agesic And the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining on the initiatives being developed and implemented to accelerate the incorporation of artificial intelligence in the public sector. Our CEO Sebastián Galli and our Operations Director Facundo del Pino Sviridenko they were representing Team Delto.

The event brought together actors from the public and private sectors, and the full room of the Mario Benedetti auditorium demonstrated how important the topic is for the present and future of Uruguay. Throughout the event, we had the interventions of the Vice President of the Republic, the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining, Directors of Antel, Agesic and the Cuti - Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology. We also had exhibitions from collaborators from Google, AWS and NVIDIA.

Synergy between government and private sector is key

During the event, the different speakers insisted on the relevance of the topic for Uruguay's agenda, which has great opportunities and conditions to be a world leader in innovation and implementation of artificial intelligence in the public sector. As a good summary, Hebert Paguas highlighted the digital transformation agenda promoted by Agesic, the infrastructure capacity provided by Antel and the possibilities of implementation and development by the private technology sector in Uruguay.

We left the event happy to see so much agreement between the different key actors and the alignment of incorporating AI to make the interaction of entities with their different internal and external clients more efficient and satisfactory. This synergy is key and we can say with peace of mind that Uruguay is on a very good path to take advantage of all the potential that Artificial Intelligence offers us in its different forms to make a difference.
