Event Recap: Accelerating Artificial Intelligence in Uruguay's Public Sector

Delto attended the event "Accelerating Artificial Intelligence in the Public Sector" in Uruguay, co-hosted by ANTEL, Agesic and the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining. A packed Mario Benedetti auditorium brought together public and private sector leaders, with speakers from Google, AWS and NVIDIA.

The public sector and artificial intelligence in Uruguay Today we took part in the event co-hosted by ANTEL , Agesic and the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining on the initiatives being developed and implemented to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence in the public sector. Public and private sector players came together at the event, and the packed Mario Benedetti auditorium showed how important the topic is for Uruguay's present and future. Throughout the event we heard from the Vice President of the Republic, the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining, executives from Antel, Agesic and the Cuti - Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technologies . We also had presentations from team members at Google, AWS and NVIDIA. The synergy between government and the private sector is key During the event, the different speakers stressed how relevant the topic is to Uruguay's agenda, a country with strong opportunities and conditions to become a global reference in the innovation and implementation of artificial intelligence in the public sector. As a great summary, Hebert Paguas highlighted the digital transformation agenda driven by Agesic, the infrastructure capacity provided by Antel and the implementation and development possibilities offered by Uruguay's private technology sector. We left the event glad to see so much agreement among the key players and alignment around adopting AI to make the interaction between agencies and their internal and external clients more efficient and satisfying. This synergy is key, and we can confidently say that Uruguay is on a very good path to harness the full potential that artificial intelligence offers in its different forms to make a difference.
